Without the resetter it will continue to give error codes, holding the resume button for 5-10 seconds sometimes will turn off ink level reporting, but you either need the resetter or to purchase and install reset circuit boards on each cartridge you refill.

You can do a factory reset on the printer, follow the steps here on How to reset Canon mp610. It's difficult to have problems with ink as it is a bit expensive but I hope it will work for you too.

Refilled Canon PIXMA MP830 and still get ink levels are low! how do you reset levels

Whoever filled this cartridge for you did not reset the chip. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and our chip resetter was about $100. I would not purchase from that particular refiller again because they have displayed a lack of knowledge about their product. If you buy from Cartridge World, they always reset the chips for you.

Canot read after refill

You need to shop online for either a chip resetter or replacement chips. You can't refill Canon inks without a new chip because the chip tells the printer that the ink is empty even when you add more ink.

Orange light flashing after ink refilled how can i stop it

You can't stop the flashing unless you buy a new Canon ink or buy a new chip and resetter to reset the chip on the cartridge. The place you get your ink from should have both the chip and resetter. With Canon you have to refill before they are empty, or you can't use them again.

How do i go about refilling epson T5591/2/3/4/5/6

Before you can have unlimited refilling you must need this devices:

Option 1: The chip resetter which you will need to manually reset the cartridge before refilling to enable the printer to recognize a new cartridge.

Heres the link where you can buy the resetter:
http://cgi.ebay.ph/CHIP-RESETTER-For-EPSON-T5591-T077120-T078120-T0791-INK_W0QQitemZ290276640766QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBI_Toner?hash=item4395d607fe

Option 2: You a new set of empty cartridges with autoreset chips in it. No manual resetting needed, what you need is to refill and monitor the ink level.

Explanation: When the printer detected that the cartridge is empty, the printer sends data to the cartridges and the cartridge understand what the printer says, then the cartridge automatic chip resetter will re trigger the logic circuit built in into it to reset into full ink level.

Here is the link of the autoreset chip what Im taking about:

Canon pixma ip4600 black ink problem

The PGI-220 is the larger ink tank and is filled with standard black ink. The PGI-221 black cartridge is the photo black. There is no way to force the printer to use the photo black cartridge (skinny one) to print documents. The photo black cartridge is only used if you print a photo. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling shop and I can't refill these cartridges yet. There is no way to reset the ink level chip without a resetter and any replacement chips you find on the internet are technically violating patent law.

What is a chip resetter?

The resetter actually resets the Reset Ink Counter not a chip. It resets the ink level (ink metrer) . You can use the resetter tool.
Download the mptool from this site:

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.

Canon MP180

There is no way to reset the ink levels on the new canon cartridges. you need to turn off the ink status monitor :(

You'll know it's time to refill again when your printing starts to fade, streak, or discolor.

Ink cartridge

You basically got scammed on that purchase. The important detail they didn't tell you was that the chips need to be reset on these cartridges. By resetting the chip you are telling the printer it has a full cartridge. Once the chip thinks the cartridge is empty it will cease to print. That's why you got the cartridge to print some and then it quit. You don't necessarily have to buy original Canon cartridges, but you do need to make sure you are buying refills with reset chips. I recommend Cartridge World for refills. I would stay away from internet sellers because they pull stuff like this on you and give you terrible ink.
