I have two batteries one still has a bit of a charge but when either battery is put in the charger neither will charge and the red light continues to blink very quickly
Has anyone experienced a slow blink blink pause blink what is it
F**k DEWALT drills. I'm so done with them. I have several drills that were bought at the same time 2 years ago. 2 DeWalt batteries won't charge. I'll never buy new DeWalt products again unless it's a screw driver or dikes. I ad a 20 volt DeWalt for 23 years. No roblems at all. The new ones suck. Hello Milwaukee. I love my drills. They keep working.
Not true, I have a Dewalt dcb-112 charger. I've had for 3 years, charger looks like charging but the flash gets off rhythm every 5 or so flashes. I bought my Dad a new 20v max drill for Fathers day 2018, my battery charges fine in his charger. I tried charging his battery in my charger same response, irregular flashing, contacts are good. I rarely use my drill and neighbor charges up 1-2 times a year no problem. I also know another person with a 20v charger that he had to replace from what he thinks was a power surge.

Here is the manual for the charger - note on page 2 the meaning of the problem you describe - time to replace batteries (depends how old they are)

That being said, check the videos out, perhaps can get it to work after all for a while longer.

Dust getting in the charger is a problem, Try blowing it out with a moisture-free dust remover, found at most any store. Green flashing means improper power, due to dust or power from the outlet, try a differant wall outlet. Red flashing means the charger or battery is to hot and must cool down before it will charge. The charger will not charge a battery if the lights are flashing. Solid Red light means it is charging and solid green light means it is charged. Plug the charger in first before putting the battery on the charger. If the charger has been droped or hit the floor the coil inside could have broke loose and dammaged the charger requiring it to be replaced.

sounds like my charger, not making good contact
wiggle the battery around while pushing down and you can probably get it to make contact
sounds like you just need a new charger
SOURCE: Dewalt battery charger won't charge
As you know, solid red on your charger means that the battery is fully charged and the BLINKING red light means the battery is charging. Unless the light is blinking irradically everything is working the way it is supposed to. If the light is blinking irradically, the battery may just be too hot or too cold to charge ( like when you are driving many lags and your battery dies) and in this case simply wait 15 minutes to charge. If you get a fast blinking light still, the problem probably is with the battery.

When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.

So what is it when my DCB118 fast charger I put the battery on it turns red for one sec and shuts off batteries charge on other chargers.
The generic amazon dewalt batteries are great, in my case the charger went bad. The battery you have may be going into a safe mode. Sounds like a short in the pack.
