Moisture not collected

My Delonghi DE400P is only 14 months old and not collecting moisture from air. Tray is dry and not a drop of water. I did not use it this winter. It was working fine before that. Humidity setting is set to 60% and room humidity indicates 73%. I just keeps on going as the room humidity never goes down. HELP!!!

My dehumidifier does not seem to be working properly. I can't find the manual to tell me what the settings should be. Would appreciate your help. It is a DeLonghi DE400P. Thanks Shirley

What is the specific problem? Is no water being collected by the dehumidifier or do you have another issue?

Make sure that the dehumidifier is in a room in the operating temperature range (at or above 44 degrees F). Make sure that the room door and windows are closed and that the room is not larger than 2200 square feet. Make sure that the collection bucket not full and is properly seated in the dehumidifier. Check and clean the air filter on the dehumidifier. (Vacuum the filter or rinse under running water three times. Then wait until dry to replace it in the dehumidifier.) Look at the coils of the dehumidifier. If you have ice on the coils, defrost the unit (turn off, unplug and wait for it to melt). If the ice reforms quickly, you may have a leak in the coolant system. Then the unit needs repair.

Next make sure that you have good air flow around the dehumidifier and that the desired humidity set point is lower than the humidity of the room.

Retrevo has the manual available: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Delonghi-DE400P-Heating-Cooling-and-Air-manual/id/19269bh037/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to download the PDF.

I hope this helps.

It is not taking moisture out of the air. The tank is bone dry, yet the controls indicate it is in moisture removal mode, the fan is running and the temp gauge shows 60% rh. Also we suspect it is drawing...

I have DE400P and water not collected in a tank, it's coming from the smal plastic tub behind tank

There's a small gray nub attached to the plastic above it. Slide the tube onto it and it should fix your problem.

It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises."

Dehumdifier not collecting water.

If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises.

The filter (on some models) may be dirty or clogged. If so, clean the filter. For instructions on cleaning the filter.

I hope this help to solve, if this answer solve it, remember to rate it. Good luck.

Frostguard 36 Dehumidifier runs, but collects no water.

unfortunately it sounds as though your refrigerant leaked out. If your compressor is running and no moisture, this is probably the case. What is the temperature of the air coming out?

Dehumidifer stopped collecting moisture, blows air w/ empty tank

Possible cause it's out of gas.

you might have to get a refridgeration mechanic to regas it, or/and fix any gas leaks
