I've tried HP's suggestion of powering the machine down; removing the ink cartridges; waiting for 2 minutes; replacing the cartridges; powering on machine. This did not work. When I turn on the printer, the display screen does a short boot up and then the warning exclamation mark is lighted and the message appears on the screen.
