Recording problem between dvd vcr recorder combi and hd lcd tv

I have just just purchased a grundig 19'' widescreen hd ready idtv lcd (gu19wdv4) to work with my bush dvd / vcr recorder combi (dvhrs02). However i can get both a dvd and a tape to play but cannot record without problems. I put the bush machine to av1 and attempt to record from a freeview channel and get the sound but no visual only a message saying no signal. If i swap the scart on the bush i get picture but no sound. Is this a compatibility issue between the machines or am i doing something wrong? If it is a compatibilty issue i will return the tv but what tv's will work with the bush machine?

Purchase a DVD recorder/player that has a HDMI cable connection and use the connections on the TV so you'll get a hi def picture. RF will NOT give you a Hi Definition picture even if it's up converted.

The VCR/DVD combo that you purchased will be able to record what you wish to a VHS tape at low quality or to a DVD at a higher quality.

  1. Coax cable (round and screw on) from the antenna to VCR/DVD
  2. Coax/AV/HDMI cable (only need 1) from the VCR/DVD player to TV
  3. TV on and turned to the input matching the cable you used in step 2
  4. Turn on VCR/DVD and use the remote control included with this unit. Not the TV's
  5. Turn it to the channel 11 on the VCR/DVD
  6. Put in a VHS tape or DVD-R to record onto
  7. You will be able to hit record whenever the show comes on or used timed recording in the menu to schedule it ahead of time

You indicated you have a DVD PLAYER, not DVD recorder. You cannot record on to a DVD on a player, you need to buy a DVD recorder/player. Unlike a VCR which stands for Video Cassett Recorder which can record and playback video. DVD recorder technolgy much more complicated.

I am unable to eject a dvd from my grundig combi TV. I press eject & get a 'clunking' noise
There should be a small pin hole on the front of the dvd tray. Gently push the end of a paper clip into the hole and that should release the dvd tray.

Cannot view tv program while recording on VCR
Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls set the Samsung LCD TV to the Source selection as if watching a playback evgen if you are going to do a recording.

If that does not work, pls postback manner of connection (cabling) from Cox digital cable system to Philips DVD/VCR to Samsung LCD TV LN-T3253HX/XAA .

Connections for DVD Recorder/LCD TV/ SKY PLUS
Connect the AV output of the Sky box to the AV input of the Panasonic combo.Look at rear of the Combo and you will observe input and output RCA connections.Using RCA leads, hookup the Av output of the Panasonic to the audio/video input of the Sony tv. Power up Appliances, and you should be OK.

Grundig TV - Tuning DVD & VCR
Hi there!
If the DVD recorder has an RF out then you should be able to tune it on UHF bandwidth. The cable should run from the RF Out on the recorder to RF on the TV. Switch the recorder on, put in a DVD and press play before tuning. Some DVD's require a disc before a Menu appears. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004
