At power-on, use F12 (or F8) and select 'Repair' ... DO NOT let it 'reformat' your drive or you will loose everything ..

If that fails, you may have to choose 'Factory Restore', but this will re-install Windows and you will LOOSE EVERYTHING !!

SO == if you have another PC, I suggest move your disk drive to that other PC and copy off all your photos/music/videoa etc you don't want to loose before doinbg a Factory Restore ..

Trying to start Lenovo laptop but just the "Lenovo" word shows up & nothing happens

Try to remove your hard drive. The company I work for uses mainly lenovo laptops and we have found if a hard drive goes faulty it will hang at this LENOVO screen. if you remove it and it progresses to the bios (it won't load windows since the hard drive is not in the laptop) you might need to consider replacing the hard drive and reinstalling windows.

Please contact me at this no.9213261399

If you hear a clicking sound when the hard drive is trying to start up; then the drive is defective. If nothing happens when you start the computer, the operating system and/or drive are faulty. You need to get a replacement drive and install Windows again.

My Seagate starts to boot up but then goes to a dark blue screen(no words) and you can hear the H.D> working, then the computer beeps once and nothing further happens.

Hi,
the blue screen, is usually a Hardware Or Software ( operating System error ) The Computer beeping Once, States that The Computers Hardware is Fine. I,d try formatting the hard-drive, and reinstalling Your Operating System et,c. I,d assume this is a missing or corrupt windows system file. Or possible hard-drive error. ( virus-Trojan-Worm ) are also suspect.

Only shows compaq on screen

I work with Compaq computers now and usually your problem points to the hard drive. I know Compaq's will stay on that screen if the hard drive has failed. Try another hard drive would be my suggestion.

Hope this helps.

Cpu /monitor

Hi, Sounds like video card problem. Try removing, cleaning the gold contacts and re-installing to the slot. If your PC uses an on-board video that shares with the memory, then you have to remove your memory and clean the gold contacts then re-insert back and try again. If cleaning, re-inserting/re-seating does not solve the problem, then perhaps replacement is required. Hope this be of some help/idea. post back how things turned up or should you need further information. good luck and kind regards.
