Vertical grey lines and distorted video

Sony ccd-tr60e - when camera is in vtr mode there are vertical lines of different thicknesses on the left of the screen. Viewfinder is in monochrome which is normal for this old camera. When video is played, the vertical lines are displayed in the viewfinder and there is a tracking line near the bottom of the screen. The video when watched on the tv is not clear just blobs of colour. The picture is distorted with a lot of grey although in the viewfinder it is clear but of course in black and white. Also when recording the audio drops in and out.

SOURCE: Fuzzy vertical lines on display, viewfinder on recording

This problem may be due to a malfunction of the CCD image sensor in the camera. It is defective in this model and canon will repair it for you at no charge. Here is the link to their service notice. You can call the 1800 no in the article and they will send you a form along with a ups label to send the camera to them.

Hope this helps:)

Red vertical lines/no picture

Hi there. Contact sony service centre directly and ask them about replacing the ccd. I have a vx2100 which did exactly the same thing. Sony admits that there was a problem with the ccd's used in these cameras and replaced them for free, maybe the same for your camera. good luck
