D-Link DIR-625 - wireless problem

Hello!

I have set up my network on new DIR-625 - by cable it works fine, but I cannot connect with the router wirelessly. Computers with wi-fi cards can see the network, all the settings are OK but I keep getting "Windows cannot connect to " message... I have no idea what may be wrong.

There may be several issues based upon your description based upon the pcs that attempt to access the router wirelessly -
what are the OS? Vista? XP?
Do the PCs have firewalls installed? How are they configured?
Are your PCs configured with different subnets or static IP addresses from the router? To explain - if your router has an ip address of 192.168.0.1; and your pc does not have a dynamic ip address (set by the router), but rather, is set for 192.168.1.2, you won't be able to connect - you'll need to modify the ip address on the pc.

On the router, how is the wireless setup? do you require MAC addressing? what is the security? WEP? WPA?

With your situation you can see the wireless network but cannot connect you have to change your DNS.
*that will depend on your operating system.

I don't know how to set a password on my d-link router because my internet is insecure. How do i do this? I have the default username and password, but i don't know what to do from there.

1.Open your Internet browser and type in the default IP address for your DIR-625 wireless router: 192.168.0.1. A window will appear asking for your DIR-625 wireless router network name and password. If you do not know your existing network name, enter the default network name, "Admin." Leave the password blank. If you have already set up a network name and password, enter it now. Select "Log In."

2.Select "Wireless Settings" from the left-hand navigation bar. Put a check mark in the box marked "Enable Wireless."

3.Type your new wireless network name for your DIR-625 in the box labeled "Wireless Network Name."

4.Type your new password for your DIR-635 in the box labeled "Pre-Shared Key."

5.Select "Save Settings" from the top of the screen to save your new password.

I have no security on my d-line dir-625 and want to add it. How?

Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router with the wireless computer.
you will need to connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
check the IP address of the computer.
open the router set up page of the router.
Here you can change the wireless settings of the router.
Now once you change the network anme and security on the router, you will need to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computers.

My D-Link DIR-625 is constantly toggling between conencted/&not

it's possible, i would try moving the computer to a diferent prot on the router and also pluging in a diferent computer, you could also have a bad cable. if it won't work with another cable on another computer then you will probably have to buy a new router. if it works with another computer you will probably need to replace your pc's network card. (though i would try reinstalling the driver first.)
