Sxrd rear projection standby light blinking 4 times. I unplugged tv and when I turn it back on,it comes on for about 5 sec then goes off and red light blinks 4 times. Changed bulb about 2 months ago. And was part of the optical lens recall earlier this year. What does teh 4 blinking lights mean and what needs to be replaces?
Check the bulb door and make sure its closed all the way. be sure the bulb is firmly pushed into its socket. if the problem is still there you may need to repair the power supply board.

The board that call the Ballast board might dead,require replacing.This Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp.The tv projection lamp been inside the tv like 1 1/2 or 2 years already?Yes.Tv used it everyday like 4 or 5 hrs daily?Yes,the tv should be replacing it projection lamp too.Tv projection lamp life are ending too.
Hi, 4 times red light blinking indicates problem with exhaust fan that is not running and tv shuts down instantly due to protection mode activation. Please check exhaust fan and make sure its connector is plugged in and fan runs freely. Thanks.
The ribbon connector which goes from the FMT to the DM is disconnected or not seated properly thats the only thing that will cause the 4 4 error other than a broken ribbon socket
helloFive blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the
timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the
self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video
out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check
Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK
blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
I believe 4 blinks is fan error. You can take back off and watch fans in particular the fan for the lamp (this one goes out the most) The TV has a sensor so it knows if the fan turns.You can take a pencil and use it to spin fan sometimes that will jump start it (not a permanent fix just a test). You can try cleaning dust off fan and replugging the connector on the wires coming from fan.Might fix it if not fan will need replacement.
I think this sounds like my problem (need to replace the projector lamp). However, when I hit the "on" button, my SXRD 50" blinks green for about a minute then starts blinking red. Can you confirm the bulb solution? I was very pleased with this sight when my fan malfunctioned. I got the fan in a matter of day's from Sony and it fixed that problem.
4 red blinks indicates a fan error. usually blowing duster inside the fan blades will cure this. there are 4 fans inside this tv. looking from the back of the tv, the large fan on the left side is usually the culprit...good luck to ya
