Is the door closing properly? Do you hear it "click" when it closes. A lot of times the problem is the door switch. It is located inside the microwave. They are made of plastic and they break. If the switch is broken, the magnetron(microwaves) will not start.
This is either the door sensing switch (most likely) or a bad membrane switch [start switch] (that's what Panasonic calls it) on the touch pad. The contacts on the door sensing switch can be slightly contaminated and not read "zero ohms" to the control PCB. The control board thinks that the door is open and it will not allow the cook cycle to start.
Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. If the buttons are not working replace the touch membrane. I would list the part number but you didnt give full model number.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
poosible burned contacts on cook relay mounted on circuit board; or, a defective solder connection(s) on same board. another spot to check in the door microswitches.
Hello there
looks like you have a touch pad that has shorted out and is in need of replacement
please go to www.whirlpool.com and they have a technical help section ok.
best regards mike
This is either a defective touch pad membrane or the entire main control board is not functioning correctly. many times, the unit will have a separate touch control but, most newer models will have the touch pad integrated together with the main assembly.
In this case, replace the main touch control assembly.
Your Control Key Pad is a circuit with each function and button a switch. The pad on your TV Remote, and Telephone is no different. The Key Pad is failing, It will only get worse. Determine if you can replace the Touch (Key) Pad. Not the Control Circuit, just the Touch Pad. Sometimes you can get it seperate. It connects by a Flex Cable to the Control Circuit.
