If it is under warranty i advice you give it for service as this is a pretty complicated procedure to get it fixed.
This error is caused due to the failure of lens alignment system.Try following the procedure below..
it may be the lens contacts or grit in the gears
open it up on the side of the lens you will see a row of thin gold coloured contacts that report the lens position back to the cpu sometimes these get dirty or bent.on the side of the lens is a motor, look where the gear meets the lens and use a pin to flip out any grit that is stuck in the teeth.
Its very unlikely the lens is "out of alignment" this just cant happen unless its been dropped or bashed, in which case it may be broken.
Also i have heard some people bashing the camera a couple of times to get it working..
hold the camera and bash the edge next to the lens against the palm of you hand as hard as you can, one I did have to get a little more medieval on and bashed aginst a bit of carpet on the bench.. but it worked... might be worth a go if the next step is the bin...

After not haveing a camera for 3 months, I bashed away and my camera works. Thanks so much for this solution! I will say I had to hit it much harder than I thought I would! But it works great. Now I don't have to buy a new camera to capture my daughter's first Christmas.

Wow, I am amazed! I just hit my hand against it and it worked. A little noisier than usual, but it works!
Thanks my husband needs it for business and I am the one it jammed up on. You saved the day and maybe my marriage.

I found a C875 from thrift store and it had E45. Banging did not work, as the telescoping lens was jammed in tight. I disassembled the lens and found tiny pins that ride in the cam slots for positioning the lens elements. I pulled and extracted the pins with Jewelers screwdrivers because the pins had been rotated and stuck between lens and cam slot barrels, causing the jam.

Eagle 338 - THANK YOU!!! I am 12,000 miles from home on a trip and the camera gave me the E45 message. I have been sad all day because Kodak's suggestion to mail it to them was not possible - and - I had only this camera along. It took a few bashes against my hand but it WORKS!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!! I'd buy you a beer (or 6) if you were here!!!!!

I had the same problem...upon power up, the lens stopped just before fully open and error message E45 was displayed. After fiddling around with it myself (no luck), swapping and recharging batteiers (no use), trying to find the user manual (no chance), then doing a Google search...I found the FixYa site and the suggestion by eagle338 to just give it a "bash" next to the lens. PRESTO!! An early Christmas gift, and my camera works great. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!

I just had the same problem. Gave it a light bash against the side of my hand, and the lens retracted. No more E45 - but now, when I turn it on, I get a flashing red light that goes off after a few seconds, and that is that! The batteries are freshly charged and work fine in my Canon A510.

I bought it on eBay from a seller who said it had no problems. At least, the lens is retracted so I can send it back for, I hope, a full refund. (It had better be - or bad feedback!)

Thanks!

I had the problem too - the first time I tried a CX6330 I'd bought on eBay from a seller who said it was fine and had no problems. Hit it lightly against my hand, and it fixed the E45 message. However, now it will only flash a red light for a few seconds whenever I turn it on, then turn itself off. The batteries are freshly charged and work fine in my Canon A510.

At least the lens retracts now, so I can send it back to the seller for what had better be a full refund!!

    Blessings!

SOURCE: camera error # e45

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

Como corregir un errror E45 en una kodak V570

The bad news is that this error means the lens alignment of your camera is messed up and it will take repair service to fix it. The cost of this might be equivalent to replacing the camera.

Camera locked - camera error #E45

Hi

www.Kodak.com says:
"E45" appears on your camera's display when your camera requires service or repair.

I think it is a lens error. They have a page on www.kodak.com called Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair. This is for USA only.
See what they suggest.

I may be cheaper just to get a new camera.

Hope this helps.

My camerais say error #e45

if you get this error message and it's telling you to see the user's guide - the user's guide will actually just tell you to do powercycle

with several powercycle (removing batt> putting it back in after 10 seconds> turn cam to auto) it may work again

if not, it needs repair

the user's guide doesn't have this defintion as it's an engineer code, only the repair center can determine or resolve
