Is it only when connected to the computer? If so there are several settings that could be causing the issue. The biggest is the refresh rate, make sure it's set to a max of 60HZ. Also make sure the resolution is not set to high. If your TV is 720p it's 1280x720, for 1080p it's 1920x1080 MAX! Also make sure the cable is tight on both ends. If all this is okay, it may be a hardware issue, but it's doubtful. Try hooking the computer to another TV.

If it's not a computer the issue is most likely either the source resolution or the cable.

Good luck

SOURCE: Black screen on HP PL4260N 42? Plasma HDTV

The problem is the "Y-SUS" board. It is inside the set on the left side with several aluminum heat sinks, under the left side brace bar. You can order this board from Union Electronics at www.ued.com .Search for part number: TNPA3243AB-PA

It lists for about 115$

Picture went black but you could still hear the movie

Hi- My PL4260N stopped working after about three years, the audio worked but no video at all. The TV worked fine until one day...no more picture.
I found out that the YSUS and ZSUS boards in the TC fail alot...BUT you can get new or repaired ones off of EBAY...
First check for failed components (burned, loose, bulging, etc.) if nothing obvious is failed then check the fuses on the YSUS, ZSUS, and power supply boards...usually if a board has a blown fuse the board needs to be replaced...get the part number and search it in Google and eBay and you will find options for replace/repair.
Mine had a blown fuse on the YSUS board...I got it fixed for $75 through coppell TV (they are on Ebay)....
Now my TV works fine again!
Good luck.

Just lost picture, still have audio. How do I know if it is the y sus board or thr y buffer board?

Check if FS2 is open on the Ysus, if open then the Ysus board has a short circuit between VS and ground due to a defective IC18. IC18 is the hybrid under the heatsink.
Let me know if you require further info.

YSUS board-How do I change it?

Put the TV on a table, screen down with a blanket under it. Just remove the back cover to get at the YSUS Board. It's in the left upper corner.

The board looks like this, I removed the Heat-sink to get at the IC under it. But once you remove it you can send it in for repair.

My hp plasma tv lost it's picture. Audio works fine. Work are some causes of this?

Hello,
The T-con board, the board that sit right in the middle of the center LCD panel . That board is dying. try websites like shopjimmy.com, Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-con board for replacement.

Some troubleshooting help please.

The part that caused the fuse to blow is the hybrid that is mounted underneath the heatsink on the YSUS and ZSUS boards. The part used on these boards might be YPPD-J017C or YPPD-J018C, in about 90% of the time, replacing these hybrids fixes the plasmas with no video but good audio. Since VS and GND is shorted, that means that the hybrid has shorted internally. Most service techs would rather replace the entire YSUS or ZSUS boards since the hybrids are very difficult to remove.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
