I have a Haier HSA02WNDWW, and it's freezing everything I put in it, even on its lowest temperature setting. Does the thermostat need to be replaced? Can I do that myself?
My mini-fridge did a similar thing, until I realized that managed to put on the wrong temperature knob. It was technically backwards. They may have done this to you. I mean, it is a longshot, but try putting it on the highest setting to see if that helps. If it does not, you're most likely dealing with a faulty knob that's not actually changing the settings on the thermostat.

they do that when they are on the way to the big kitchen in the sky. sorry, but mini fridges do not typically last very long.

Is everything really frozen or just the top shelf stuff? You may have a thermistor (temp sensor) problem if the compressor just runs and runs and runs all the time. Take a glass of water and place a thermometer in it for about 3 hours then take a temp. reading. That will let you know what the real temps are. See if you can cause the compressor to kick off and on by changing the temp settings (go to real low for about 5 minutes then back up to high). Let us know what happens.

if you haveno control of the temp. it is the cold control t-stat that is bad, but first i would sett all controls to factory setting and allow to run for 24 hrs to confirm

Water freezes in the refigerator overnight. The compressor runs on any setting above "off."
The knob's not on backwards, since the fridge has worked fine for about 5 years.
