Channel numbers missing

After change of channels by my TV cable provider I did a complete automatic channel scan as suggested. All channels are there however some CHANNEL NUMBERS are missing. In the channel list I get numbers 1 thru 8, number 9,10 are missing etc. So i am unable to assign a station to channel number 8 as before. Change channel numbers is also not possible, as there is no channel number 8 to use. Scanning the entire channel list show the missing channel numbers at the end of the list as ANALOG channels, even though I scanned only for digital. How do I get my channel numbering back?

Local channels are usually below a channel 1000. they are always on same assigned channel. If your cable box or tv has it, it has option to not display channels with no service on them. you can't reassign the channel numbers. they are channels but not being displayed.

How do I scan the TV clc501 for channels? I don't see a button for (antenna) to scan channels. I am only getting 2 channels, any help would be appreciated.

I can provide some general steps on how to scan for channels on a TV: Make sure that your TV is connected to an antenna or cable input. Turn on the TV and go to the main menu or settings. Look for an option to scan for channels or auto-tune. This option may be labeled as "Channel Setup" or "Channel Scan." Select the option to scan for channels and wait for the TV to complete the process. This may take several minutes. Once the scan is complete, you should see a list of available channels on your TV. If you're still having trouble, I suggest referring to the user manual that came with your TV for more specific instructions. Alternatively, you can try contacting the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.

What channel should my Toshiba 32 in be on for cable

What channel? Do you have a cable box from a provider? If yes, then the HDMI output from the cable box will go to one of the numbered HDMI inputs of the tv. Use your tv remote to select the correct input (source button) and when you find the corresponding numbered HDMI input, your signal should be there. If you are not using a converter box and your signal comes in from your wall to your tv then you must go into the menu settings of the tv and select a channel search. Usually an "automatic search" will do .Click that and allow for all the channels to be scanned. You will be limited to how many channels the tv will allow. If you know the cable signal has channels 1-200 but your tv can only "detect" channels 1-165, then you will be short 35 channels. Only way to to get more is to get a converter box. The only time you should be choosing a channel (3 or 4) to view cable on the tv is if the cable signal is going through a vcr first and then to the tv

Set stations

A channel scan is a vital part of utilizing your cable TV service. When a coaxial cable is connected to a TV, sometimes it will not display any channels until you configure the TV for your specific cable connection and scan for available channels. A channel scan can be applied to basically any type of TV or TV/VCR combo, even if you are missing its remote control.

Instructions
    • 1 Bring up the TV's menu. Look for a button on the front panel of your TV/VCR labeled "menu" or "setup." Press it and you should see a menu appear on the screen. Part of the menu should inform you what buttons you can use to navigate through the menu. If not, try using the volume buttons or channel buttons on the front of the TV and see if pressing those allows you to navigate through the menu.
    • 2 Specify channel scan settings. Once you are able to navigate through the TV's menu, look for the "channel scan" "auto-program," or "auto-tune" option. This may be inside one of the TV's sub-menus such as "setup," "channel setup," or the like. The key of this step is to specify your cable settings before running your channel scan. The "tuner mode" option needs to be set to "cable" rather than "air" or "antenna." You may have to specify what cable type to use, this will be set to "std" or "standard" for the vast majority of cable providers. If you are not certain what cable type you use at home, contact the technical support department of your cable provider.
    • 3 Run a channel scan. Once the scan settings have been set properly, run the scan (usually done by pressing a "start," "scan" or "begin" button.) When the scan is complete, check to see if you are getting all of your channels. Contact your cable provider if you are not sure how many channels you are supposed to be getting.

Missing cable channels

You need to contact your cable service provider about this, it is a signal issue not a TV issue.

I can only get channels 600 through 900 which I have never see before.I cannot get regular channels or cable channels. It is not a flat panel t.v.Q1435A is the model number

Hi -

If you have a cable TV line connected directly to the TV, an antenna or a cable box connected by coaxial cable, I would suggest running the automatic channel scan (AUTO-PROGRAM) again:

1. Press the AV key on the Advent remote control repeatedly until TV is displayed in one corner of the TV screen. If you don't have the Advent remote, use the TV/AV button on the front of the TV.
2. Press the MENU key on the advent remote or the front of the TV to open the on-screen menus.
3. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight PRESET then press VOL+ to select.
4. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight ANTENNA then use the VOL+ key to select either AIR (for antenna) or CABLE.
5. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight AUTO-PROGRAM then press the VOL+ key to start the automatic channel scan.

Once the channel scan is complete, the TV should automatically return to viewing the first channel found during the scan. Do not press the MENU key during the scan or the scan will not complete.

If you are using a cable/satellite receiver and it is connected to the TV by any means other than a coaxial cable, you do not need to run the channel scan. You should simply select the correct AV input using the AV key on the remote or the TV/AV key on the front of the TV (see step 1 above).

If you have done all of the above and you are still unable to get the channels on your TV, please post back for further assistance. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question. Please let me know whether you are using a direct cable line, antenna or cable box, etc.

Sharp TV-Remote not working correctly

You will need to complete a channel scan from the tvs menu. I assume you have basic cable and that your cable company is still providing analog channels for you to be able to pick up any transmission on this telvision with the digital changeover and all.

Same thing... suddenly will not "allow" one channel to be seen

go to tv menu, do an "autoprogram" and it will select all available channels.
You can also do an add/remove channel and manually delete the channels you know you don't have.
You can also change your tv from air to CATV (cable) On cable tv you can still get all the air channels and Fox just the numbers will be different, but you may have a better signal

Dont know how to get cable channels , i just get local channels.

Hello.

It sounds like you need to change a setting before running the auto or channel scan. On the same menu screen that has the option for running the channel scan, you should see a setting that has next to it the word "AIR" or "ANTENNA". If this isn't changed to "CABLE" or "CATV" then the TV will only scan for a limited number of channels because it assumes you have an antenna hooked up to it instead of a cable line. This is the same for all TVs. Anytime someone runs a channel scan on ANY TV and they only pick up a limited number of channels, they need to change the setting I've described. And remember, it will be on the same menu screen that you go to in order to run the channel scan.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

P.S. On some TVs, autoscan is called autoprogram.

Unable to get cable channels past channel 33.

Your problem is likely not your TV. It's due to the signal being provided by your cable company. I suggest that you contact the cable service provider which you are using and advise them of the problem.
