SOURCE: dvd10 optoma projector makes a loud noise

Hi, I'm not sure if it's the same problem I had..
I had it on picture mute, for maybe 15 mins, which may not have been a good idea. While it was muted, it made a sparking sound, and then a very loud grinding noise. When turned off, the lound noise stops, and the fan continues as usual for about a minute. As soon as it's turned back on, the grinding noise is back. But the logo seemed to display ok.

I took it in for repairs, and they said they needed to replace the color wheel to fix the problem.

Why my Optoma PT100 is making a loud noisw

generally, the projector noise possibly comes from the color wheel or fans. but PT100 is LED projector, so the noise should be from the fans.

I want to replace the fan in my w1000 with one that isn't so loud, does anyone know what size it is?

Don't you think the Benq company would have thought of that. The general rule is - a fan that makes less noise pumps out less air !!! In other words the noise is related to the speed (rpm) and blade design.Put the wrong fan and you might damage the projector due to overheating .

I have dell 3300mp,when I turn the power on it makes a very loud noise. It does not make the sound in standby or cool down. It does work and display a signal okay, but it is very loud. Sound like a fan?,...

The main fan that cools the lamp is mostly high speed when the unit is running. when it shuts down it slows the fan down, until it stops in standby. So the noise is only really loud when it is showing a picture.

try setting the fan to eco mode (slower running) and see if the noise is acceptable. If it is still too loud then you will have to replace it. Have a look at the fan and see if any of the plastic blades are missing.

I have a one year old epson ex51 and was working great until last night. Since last night the fan noise has increased significantly. Does anyone know how to fix the fan noise?

Mine just started doing that too. I'm pretty sure the fan blades are rubbing against the casing. If you have had it for under a year, call and get it fixed, but if its over a year you're on your own. I nudged the fan with a metal hanger, and it has stopped making noise. I think eventually I'll need to take it apart and get a new fan for it that has better bearings.

Dell 3300mp Projector Loud Noise

Judging by the mains hum noise and now shaking it sounds as if a motorized component has broken.
Humming could have been the initial jam, then shaking the damaged part attempting to rotate.
Maybe check your cooling fan blades?

NEC VT 440 Projector noise

The unit needs to be opened and have the fan checked. If it is out of warranty and you are capable you should be able to access the fan quite easily. It may be rubbing against something or it may have contaminants inside and needs to be replaced.

Loud noise

It's probably the colorwheel not the fan, can only be fixed by replacement.
