Dell ST22200L monitor goes into sleep time mode

I have DVD slide shows using the Photodex ProShow program. My monitor goes into sleep time mode after about 12-14 minutes of viewing the a show on my computer with my new motherboard and Win 7 Prof. I can't find anything in the F2A88X-D3H manual about sleep time mode adjustment. I never experienced the problem on my previous ASUS motherboard and Win XP. I am using the Gigabyte graphics on the motherboard, but I am considering installing my old PCI graphics card that I used with ASUS to see if it fixes the problem. Dell tech support claims it is not the monitor problem, but I don't know.

Its in your power settings. Access it same as when you set the screensaver, is one way. Other times go straight to power settings.

SOURCE: Gigabyte Nvidia 7300 GeForce PCI Express

I would look at two things first would be the video card, if it's overheating because of fan failure, that can cause crazy things like this. I would see if you can tell if the fan is working while the system is running. I would also remove the video card and clean it well with some canned air. I would also consider your power supply, make sure you have enough watts for that video card, I would clean it carefully with the air as well. My system started shutting down like that the other week, I checked my temps on my 8800 it was idling at 90 c, turns out my fan had crawled to a slow. I have now sent the card in for RMA as it's only 5 months old.

I hope this helps,

THanks for using FIxYa,

Eric

Photos loading black

Did you delete your photo's by mistake, and tried to recover them??
If yes, then recovery of the photos is not 100% guaranteed, especially if you did a lot of organizing steps, and you could end up with photos showing up black, or sometimes an image may show more than one photo combined.

Monitor Goes into Power Save Mode

old post 2017, 1 year old. Desktop and very old monitor.
This old monitor is CCFL and those fail super easy now.
built in 2005, backlamps are mostly dead now.
VGA cable? or DVI#1 or 2 port connected
the monotor told you PC went to sleep mode
I believe it. I bet the monitor works on any other PC you try, I bet.
so put the PC VISTA in into presentation mode.
(like we do with presentations, or kiosk mode, or using a nice DLP projector in theater)
just one app does this below
or learn to use
control panel, + Power settings, and advanced.
turn off all sleep modes, all hibernate modes.
turn on all wake-on modes, for sure USB ports.
make sure device manager is not showing dead devices (chips) if it is , that means get the missing drivers from Dell, for VISTA. Dell has them on your support page
and we are not DELL.

Monitor goes into sleep mode after a few seconds

This is normaly cause by incorrect power management settings.

check power management setting in both windows and your computers bios

you will not need to worry about the power management settings of the bios when an operating system such as windows is loaded.
