It's not the camera - my Fuji xd memory card

My Fuji memory card xd M 512 mb says it is not initialized.  What can I do to initialize it?   Or just throw it away and buy a new xd card?

    i have the exact same problem. my 512 mg memory card was working fine for a long time and then out of no where i received a message that the card failed to initialize and i could no longer take or review previously taken photos. This was very annoying because it occured while i was at the Superbowl which i desperately wanted photos for. Is there a way to resolve this problem without losing the photos that i had previously taken?

Try googling fo r the info...they have a huge range of details for just this sort of problem. If not, tryto access memory operation thtough your unit's memory - there should be a trigger giving initialization details. Hope this helps!

New XD 512 mb card is showing that the card is not initialized if this is a problem with the fuji A330 camera why should I have to pay $30 to overcome the problem.
New cards must be initialized or "formatted" in the camera before they can be used. Check your manual for the procedure.

your camera model is only guranteed to work up to a maximum of 512 mb memory.

You can buy small memory cards at amazon.com Also, there is a firmware update for your camera available at the support section of the Fuji website.

  1. press < or > to sellcet ok
  2. pressing the MENU/OK button erases all the frames(files) and initialises the picture card

How do I initialize a new xD 2GB memory card for my A330 Fuji FinePix camera?
Your A330 is not compatible with the XD cards that start with an "H" or a "M" before the XD designation, unless you perform a firmware upgrade. You can do it yourself using this link from Fuji Canada. http://www.fujifilm.ca/x13573.xml

Can't initialize SanDisk Ultra II for S7000
It looks as though the camera cannot support memory as high as 4GB. Capacities above 2.2 GB require that your camera supports "FAT32", and S7000 does not support FAT32.

the only wayi found to make the card accepted is to upgrade the firmware software, this can be downloaded from fuji website, and extract the file and copy it in the initial memory card supplied with the camera, then put bnewly charged batteries or ac adapter and on the camera holding the disp/back button. then it will show the option for the update, and then click ok . after installing ne firmware switch of the camera and put the new xd card on the camera and format the card. this will enable you to shoot inthe new card.
