SOURCE: will not download pictures from camera to computer

I have the same camera. The little red light flashing is normal. It should flash for about a second and then go out. I believe the camera is reading the SD card during this time. If you turn on the camera with no SD card present this light should not flash. It sounds like you’re having problems transferring pictures from your camera to the computer. I'm guessing you’re using the USB cable that came with the camera to connect to the computer. I don't have an exact fix for this problem; it could be a defective cable or connector. However, I do have an alternative way for you to download your photos that I believe will work even better for you. Buy one of those mini SD card readers with the USB port adapters. The one I have is made by SanDisk and is called the MicroMate. Here's a link so you can see what it looks like. http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(2018)-SDDR-113-A11-MicroMate_for_SDHC.aspx When you want to download your photos just unplug the SD card from your camera, insert it into one end of the SD card reader, and plug the other end into a USB port. The computer recognizes it as a flash drive. Then you can just copy from one drive to another. I find it to be much faster then using the USB cable to download photos. I hope this helps you out.

I have downloaded the software and it still won't let me put pic on computer

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

CAN'T DOWNLOAD PIC ON MY COMPUTER

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm assuming it uses a memory card of some type.

Camera won't register that there is a memory card, always saving pics to internal memory

Did you use a high capacity memory card with an old camera? For example, did you use a SDHC card in a somewhat old camera?
Some cameras accept only SD card. Although SDHC card has the same shape, it won't be reconized by the camera.

How do i get the pictures from my camera to the memory card

the question I ask is why would you want to do this?

The camera has XX Mb of memory in case the card becomes full. Generally one downloads the pics on to a PC and deletes the Camera files to start again

If you want to keep the pic files in memory and save them tpo your pc. remove the card for safety.. Interrogate your camera via the connection cord and the software it came with. Download the folder with the pics in memory to your PC. Then delete the files on the camera. Insert the SD card and In menu, set up to save files to SD card rather than memory while there is space.

Downloading pics to memory card

a virus is present in your pc, infecting the memory card. I suggest that whenever your card leaves the camera and used in any computer or lab, always format the card in your camera not in pc cause this will gonna erase all the pictures including the virus. virus in cf cards wont destroy your camera but it will make it operates like crazy. Make it a standard operating procedure to always format card inside the camera.
Photolab will be able to read even a corrupted card.
