Paper jam means just that. Look for paper or a piece of paper jammed into a gear or stuck between a roller or even in your ink cartridge . When you put in your new ink did you take off the protective seal and run the HP software to check if it is reading the Cartridge ,You might want to read the instruction on how to install an ink cartridge. It might also help you ?
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred. Turn off the printer. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path. If you get toner or ink on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and then launder the clothing in cold water. Watch out for loose toner or ink on jammed paper, and do your best to avoid spilling it on yourself or the printer. If a little bit of loose toner or ink gets in the printer, though, it should clear after a few sheets are printed. As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?
Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following: Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer? If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges. They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead. If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group.Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them. Don
Found this on the HP Web site. Issue: The product stops printing and the error message 'Paper Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK '
displays on the product.
The unit may have a paper jam or stuck object inside, if you
have experience a paper jam error before, check the printer for any
object or paper stuck inside, clean roller.
Some error like this can be a problem on the feeder sensor and by this time you may need to replace and repair the unit.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
alternative : Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
