The Sound has stopped working on my telly

if you have sound from the headphone jack the sound circuit is good--audio headphone jack when inserted cuts off internal speakers--it could be 3 days old and have a problem with the jack.

The head phones doesn't stop loud speakers sound

most likely the switch at the back of the headphone plug is not working properly, this requires the laptop to be dismantled and have the jack repaired/replaced. Very expensive at most places. was it working previously?

Sound

if it suddenly stopped working, then either the sound chip is damaged or the driver is corrupt. You need to find out the type of sound chip you have, but run a test first, click Start>run, then type msconfig and press enter, click on the sound tab to run a driver test.
