Rimage 3400 auto loader

I have two issues. First: The autoloader stops working when it takes a disc into the printer. After successful burning of the disk data, the lift arm will take the disc and take it to the printer; then it will stop and the following message will display on the Rimage System Manager: "Autoloader lost disk from printer. Put disc in gripper manually to retry Autoloader Sense Code = 2 (Response timeout)" Second Issue: The LCD on the 3400 displays PRINTER BUSY 188. I went into the Rimage (Qumu) support page and it tells me to install a firmware update; but I tried that and it didn't work. Please help, thanks

R U sure the firmware update was the correct update and that it installed successfully? Check in the firmware part of the burning program to obtain a list of the currently installed firmware.

As far as compatability goes, if they are all fitted the same as a conventional pc via an ide cable, then any drive will fit, but for the purpose of burning DVD's ensure you have enough hard drive space for caching the images that they burn from and make sure your memory is large enough to cope.

SOURCE: CD loading arm works sporadically

Hi guys,

We had exactly the same thing (for years!), in our case causing pick failures about once every twenty disks.

The total and complete solution seems to be to upgrade your 2000i to the very latest firmware. I've just completed 500 disks with just one pick failure. Plus, as a very surprising bonus, the machine seems to work considerably faster overall.

MAN, the grief it would've saved us if Rimage had fixed this sooner...

Hi my Rimage III is getting stuck picking the disc up. The grabber wont go down.

Making a few assumptions here - Everest III auto printer is the equipment you own and are having issues with? Or possibly a Prism III auto loader? Either way it sounds like you need to perform lift home calibration. If this doesn't work it could be that your gripper is failing and needs to be repaired or replaced. The next step would be to replace the white gripper ribbon cable. If you need help call my company, we are here to help - Techware Distribution Inc in Bloomington, Minnesota. Fuji MS01 and Rimage PSS 8.0 upgrade

If you're running a lab with Fuji MS01 software and Rimage PSS 7.4 and have recently received the PSS 8.0 upgrade discs and installed the software on them excited to get an upgrade for your system, you may be wondering now why your MS01 software isn't syncing up with the Rimage software to burn discs anymore. Here is how to get them working again.

Caveats: Your Rimage system may have combo burning (CD and DVD in the same computer) and aVinci suite installed. If this is the case you will need to follow extra steps at the end of this guide. Please make sure you follow your organizations software upgrade policy before using this guide.

1. Switch to the "Panda" window.
2. Click on the Rimage label, and double click it after you have selected it. This will bring up another window.
3. Click "Rimage options" (it may be labeled otherwise, like setup options, but it's a button)
4. Under the Rimage options, go to the "compatibility" combo box. Now click it and find where it says "Upgrade to 8.0 compatibility" -- click it, then click OK. Click OK on the next window too. Now, restart your PIC unit. A reboot on the Rimage is not necessary.

Extra steps:
If you have aVinci or other DVD burning software on your server, you will additionally need to call Fuji for instructions to re-enable the burning of DVD media on your Rimage. There are steps that I cannot generalize and may require special steps to work for your specific system.

The black cylinder inside the arm that picks up the disc just spins 3 times and doesnt pick up the disc. funny thing is it only happens most times sometimes it does 3-4 disc just fine.

I had a similar problem with a different make dvd duplicator and it is the placement of the disks that makes the difference, are the plastic guides that hold the stack of dvd's bent, try pushing the dvds to one side or another, there is always a mil of space.

Unable to get system manager-Autoloader to ID the media discs. Doesn't show any option for media type. Only sees 120mm standard.

If the autoloader is in ready state, reboot the PC. Check if system manager displays the autoloader drives and printer. Check the firewire cable. It's easy to plug it in backwards. The firewire card can get damaged if it was plugged in backwards.

The pitch is a very sensitive adjustment. You need to loose one screw while tightening another to change the pitch of the head. I usually do this in 1/4 turn increments. Use the test pattern in Test mode when doing this adjustment. I have instructions if you need them..

Executing OTP version 3.04

Hook a VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse up to it. Then turn it on to see if it's booting into Windows or even into the BIOS. If it's booting into Windows, then download your autoloader firmware from Rimage.com (click the support link, then your model, download the autoloader firmware) -- then unzip it somewhere on your Rimage and use Gemini Utilities to update the firmware in the autoloader. Then restart the computer and see if you still see the same message.

The printer being recognized is tied very closely to the autoloader firmware working. Also, it helps to make sure the printer's switch is set to the position marked for Transport.

Why does my printer takes ages to print a disc

The printer will take about 5 min to print the first disc as it needs to warm up and then every disc after will take 60 ~ 90 seconds depending on the quality settings.

Printing issue

Simply adjust hhow the printer rests on the autoloader. There are two little allen wrench slots which adjust the printer both horizontally and vertically.
