I forgot my bios password and Im locked out. What do I do.

If you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will clear the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

is the password in the bios /// or in windows
if in windows you can.. if in the bios not as easy
if you can get to the motherboard some labtops still have a pull out pin that will erase the bios passwords
check with your labtop mfg to see if there are pins or switched that will allow you to erase the password and start over

while booting [force shutdown if needed] enter bios and disable floppy drive option, it should be present, then restart and it should "see" that u don't have a floppy drive and act accordingly

try last 4 digits of cellphone number

On the mainboard near the coin battery you'll find a jumper. take it off and reboot. Replace it and reboot again. that works sometimes. If not you can go to the motherboards' BIOS like Phoenix and they have backdoors built in. Read on:

These passwords are case sensitive, so you may wish to try a variety of combinations. Keep in mind that the key associated to "_" in the US keyboard corresponds to "?" in some European keyboards. hi im josh in cebu phils. if the you forgot the password then you can delete or changes it. you go to the bios utility setup then go to security settings then disable or change new password.then save the changes then reboot your pc. bang! problems solved.good luck

Well i can tell you what to do but it is difficlt and you should get professional help

TO RESET BIOS PASSWORD

Take out the top cover (including keboard) from the laptop
Remove laptop battery as well as mainboard battery
wait 1 minute
replace mainboard battery followed by laptop battery

thats it bios is reset and set to defaults..

just enter the bios after and load fail safe or optamised defaults and you are done
