My gpx mw353b wont turn on unless its plugged in can anyone tell me how to fix this

"Menu Press to access the menu and make selections. Use the Skip/Search buttons to navigate the menu. In Play mode, press to set the EQ or repeat settings. In Pause mode, press to access the local folder and delete options."

Ok this operation is the same with my ml961. I found this in the pdf download for your unit. Hole the menu button for a few sec 3-5 release you will be in a menu to set various features for music.
This should be in the manual that came with you unit. I had to go through mine a few times to find it Then I was looking in the wrong spots of the manual. I know a lot of us figure we can figure it out right off that bat but unfortunately GPX did not make that easy. here is the link to download the manual it is only in pdf 4GB Digital Audio Player MW353B GPX

Is the sound coming from the speakers? (do you hear it with the sound turned off)

Either an audio problem if heard only with sound up or if a buzz with sound off it is a coil or transformer on the circuit board vibrating hard enough to produce the noise.

Both are fixable but require different tactics to resolve.

Most items, first time your have to charge it for continious 8 to 11 hours. On that time it fully charge the battery and internal battery. I would say charge it for 11 hours.(It wont over chage on anything.)
But, if you already charged it for some time, discharge it fully. (Leave it playing till it wont even turn on when you puch the power button) Then charge it backfor11 hours.

Ihave a GPX portable dvd player that has a broken charging jack on the unit itself. The model is a GPX 808.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

There's no firmware upgrade - I believe you have to uninstall windows media player 11 to use this model of mp3 player, but it's too late for that now, b/c it has already become corrupted.

take your battery out plug your usb into your computer then it should say USB when it says this go to my computer it should say GPX device 

What OS? Win98SE requires drivers & updates which can be downloaded from the GPX web site under "support".
