Hello, Nikon Coolpix 8100 camera. Battery has difficulties loading. light blinking at back stops aft. several minutes, then beep, and start blinking faster. Blank screen confirming battery is empty.

The behavior you describe is a camera connected to a computer and it changes WHILE the computer sees the camera and it is ON (computer). When you shut down the Computer it will blink rapidly and it will not charge. if you charge with POWER ADAPTER. It will only BLINK while it charges. When it STOPS blinking it is FULLY charged.

D90 won't work. Blinking Clock in top LCD panel.

First, turn the camera off and then remove and reinstall the battery. Turn the camera back on. If the clock and battery icons still appear, try resetting the clock. If this doesn't work, contact Nikon technical support at www.nikon.com and see what they have to say. It may require a repair but determine if the camera is still under warranty. If so, Nikon may repair it at no charge.

You should still be covered under the Nikon Factory Warranty.

You can stop paying to try to fix this yourself by simply contacting Nikon and let the solve the problem for you. That is what they are paid to do - and this service is built into the price paid for the camera.

Contact Nikon directly at: 1-800-NIKON US (1-800-645-6687) 8AM-12AM EST, 7 days a week.

Good luck!

Nikon D90 Memory Card Access Blinking

It's a deadly common problem of D90. Fixation:Simply go to the DSLR repair shop and ask them to change the power circuit board of the camera. Will take $60-70 if the board available. Reason of issue:The power control IC get short and feedback the battery power to the battery causing the draining out and other problem like the top LCD back lamp turned ON after turning on the camera. Careful:To avoid this issue in future, after full charge of the battery, do not put it in the camera right then. Wait for the battery to cool down for 5-10 min and then put it in. With the full charge, the battery hold high ampere for a short time. It could damage the power distributor IC suddenly if you put it in the camera right after a full charge. Switch camera off and remove batteries. Leave for half an hour. Re insert batteries switch on set to flask and hold to ear. Can hear a whistling [This is the Flash charging up] If you cannot -assume the flash unit has failed. Now go to the Manual - A full version is in a PDF file on the Disc. Check through that you are doing every thing correctly. If still no lick Nikon customer support will advise your next move. The likely hood will be that if the camera is over a year old they may offer a discount on a replacement. A repair is not likely or very pricey.
