Were watching tv. tv turned off and now wont turn on. when pushing power button on set top the green light just flashes a few times but no turn on. please help
Followed Terryfic's solution. I am a DIYer and managed to order the part, desolder the old one and solder in the new one. However, when I turned it back on I got a black screen with sound. Hmmm, saw the adjustment screws but was hesitant. Ended up turning about 10 degrees one way and presto chango... Saved a $1200 upgrade to HD for a $30 part! Thanks

transformer....actually an IHVT.......part # 257805 or generic

My TV was switching itself off, initially after 30 minutes, then after a while it wouldn't last for 2 minutes.
It was repaired for $80. There was a faulty switch somewhere to do with the power.
Magic.
This sounds like the starter has gone these only usually last the life of the waranty i had one fitted not long ago and it cost me 25 pound but price will vary from set to set hope this is some help

I had the same thing happen to my Sanyo, 3 months after the warranty. The repair shop says the part I need may cost over $800, that is crazy. I will let you know if I find a better solution. jax
wont turn on green light on top flashes. we blew out dust from back still not working
YOU CAN WATCH TV, THEN TURN IT OFF FOR THE NIGHT OR WHATEVER, AND THEN IT WILL NOT COME BACK ON. ONCE I TOOK OFF THE BACK AND REMOVED THE FUSES AND ALL CABLES AND THE POWER CORD, THEN PUT ALL THIS BACK ON AND THE TV CAME ON HOWEVER WHEN TURNED IF OFF AGAIN IT WONT COME ON AND I CANT GET A RESPONSE BY REMOVING THE FUSES ETC LIKE BEFORE

Worked fine last night. Today - flashing green power switch light. Have tried unplugging for a few minutes then a few hours. Also tried to plug in with power button depressed - pings as though it is starting but does not.

TV was turned on with remote. It came on for a second then shut off and won't come back on. When you push the power button, you here a sound like it is coming on and the green light comes on, but the TV screen does nothing.
