When I turn on my Network Printer 12, the Attention light comes on and I get error message: 23 Paper Jam. However, there is no paper jam that I can find. How do I get this resolved? Thank you.
In order for a jam message to reset to READY, the printer logic is looking for an "06 COVER OPEN" message. The top cover of the machine must be opened to clear the jam message. If the top cover interlock switch is stuck closed, the printer logic never clears the jam message, even after all the paper has been removed. The printer appears hung with the paper jam message and can only be made READY by powering the printer Off and back On.

Its indicates attention..1. door open 2. cartridge missed 3. no paper in tray 4. paper jam. open the door there is notch which pushes the switch check notch broken? reinsert the cartridge check, load paper in tray check paper sensor flag strucked. Lift registration assm plate any paper partials under clean it..
The Attention (red) light is blinking. There are six possible causes that will display the Attention light pattern:
-Paper out -Door open -Print cartridge missing -Paper jam -Paper sensor jammed -Duplexer error
Solution : After the cause of the problem has been addressed, pressing GO will cause the printer to attempt to recover from the cause of the error. If the printer is unsuccessful, it will continue to display the Attention message until the cause is remedied.
Pressing JOB CANCEL will cancel the print job and the printer will return to the Ready state (Ready light on) unless there is a paper jam still in the printer or the print cartridge is not in the printer.

Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

Step1 Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred. Step 2 Turn off the printer. Step 3 Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. Step 4 Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. Step 5 If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it. Step 6 If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing.
