Non-standard bucket connector on Haier HD456E / HD656E

I am having the same issue with my Haier HD456E / HD656E. Unit's user manual implies that the thread on the drainage bucket will accept a standard garden hose, but it of course will not. The lame 3' hose that it comes with fits through a hole in the drainage cap is just about useless. It could possibly be extended with some tubing an an insert coupling, but why the non-standard threads?
I will be doing more research to come up with a solution, but I fear nothing short of jury-rigging something up will take care of this.

    Turns out that a regular brass 3/4" FIP to 3/4" MHT connector with a garden hose washer between the bucket and brass connector was close enough to make things work.

You can normally hear a humidistat open and close if you listen closely. Also, the water tank has either a float or pressure switch that will shut it down.

I suspect from what you have described, that the humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower it (Arrow Down) to 30-32%. If the filter is clean and the water collection bucket is installed properly, the unit should start working, shortly there after.

It could be what you say or it could be that the humidification extraction level is set too High. Try lowering the extraction percentage to 32 - 35%.

If that doesn't help and you'd like to order replacement control board/panel. Call Haier Parts and Technical Support 877-337-3639. But, you may find it cheaper to replace the unit, then repair it.

that is just a float for the water when it fulls to that level it pushes the float up and that shuts the unit off it is the bucket float lever control
