My Whirlpool 6th Sense Dishwasher suddenly shows F8 E1 error few seconds after starting any washing cycle and then it stops. According to instructions I've cleaned filters, checked water supply, checked drain hose (the machine drains at start, tried adding few cups of water to see them coming out the drain hose). Any idea what else could I try? thanks!
You have a blockage in the drain line someplace. If you have a garbage disposer, check to see that it is clear where the dishwasher connects to it. Also check and make sure that the drain hose is higher then the inlet to the disposer to prevent water draining back into the drain line from the disposer. If that's clear you have a blockage somewhere in the drainline. Best to unit from cabinet and check it

Commonly this is result of low water pressure or hose height/length
As long as the water is below the heating element and the dishes are getting clean its actually normal. Sometimes the pressure or hose length/height meets specs but will not always drain all water.
But as long as it is below the heating element this is normal
I am sure.

There is a small replacable part on the control panel circuit board which is like a fuse. It actually is a temperature fuse and it blows when the environment gets too hot for the circuit board. Unplug the dishwasher and take the door apart so you can see the circuit board. If you trace the power wires one of them leads to a little white module with 2 electrical tabs. Unplug the 2 wires and unsnap the module. You can check it with an ohm meter. IF its good the meter will register almost a short. f it's bad it will be open. The parts place I went to didn't even need a model number and he says he goes through a lot of them.

Hello Tom,
Glad that you were able to find something out of place in the check valve ( like the gasket) which in turn was restricting the ball in that check valve from being in the right position. I'd be willing to bet that your problem is solved..
Regards,
Rick
