SOURCE: black screen

Did you leave it connected to external monitor for sometime.?

coz, external monitor does not come up until the computer gets to the login screen.

Do you see any activity on harddisk light when switched on ?

If not, the problem is with the board.

SOURCE: Computer Keeps rebooting, all lights on, nothing on screen dv6000

Try reseating both RAM mods. If that doesnt work try booting with only one of them connected at a time. If the unit keeps rebooting like this no matter witch one of them you use its a 99.9% chance its the mainboard. This is cover by an extended warrant.

If the unit is outside the extended warranty and you want to try replaceing it yourself. The partnumber for a new mainboard is 443775-001.

SOURCE: hang up when start with ac power

Has this just recently started happening? if so you could try a system restore to your latest stable operating point.. vista is sometimes known to crash after power settings are changed... you could also try reverting your power settings to their defaults( start / control panel / power )if this dose not work it sounds very much like a hardware problem. firstly i would take your power cord to a local repairer to have it tested to make sure it is putting out the correct voltage and mA.. if your transformer is ok you need to test if your problem is with your hardware or software on the pc.. I would install vista on a separate partition and see if you have the same problem. if your new install of vista works fine when plugged in you should back up your needed files format your hard drive and do a complete new install of vista. but if your new install of vista (on the separate partition)crashes in the same way your trusty old laptop will need repair or ebaying

SOURCE: My NV54 went to black screen then grey tried

Hi,
Because the machine is new and in warranty i recommend that you contact Gateway to arrange to send it to them for repair. They will take you through a few troubleshooting pointers first before booking it in.
I would not try fixing the problem without help from a Gateway technician as because its new its up to them to deal with and laptops are designed to last at least a year before problems arise but in your case it's three weeks. There is obviously something wrong for it to go down within such a short length of time.

Good luck.

Ms-7548 mobo no post beep and screen goes black after startup

this sounds like you have picked up a virus there are a few that will do this, you will need to reformat the hard drive. or use a backup disc if you have one made to install on computer. make sure you only go into computer in safe mode and use virus software to try and remove it. this virus attacks the startup file on the hard drive, and the reg files allocation. hope this helps failing this the hard drive has wiped its self when it has not shut down properly.

Problems with the samsung camera. the screen is blank black!

Sounds like the ZIF connector for the screen or another part came loose. I will say it sounds like a hardware issues and I would strongly recommend looking into coverage via manufactures parts and repair coverage. About the picture folder not showing up, If your using the camera cord to attach it to the computer Make sure you turn the camera on after connecting, if the drive for the camera does not appeare in " Computer " I would say get a card reader for the SDHC cards and try to load the pictures through there.

Installed still life and it wont play , it says game is running

Find the program in the installation directory. It might be something like C:\Program Files\The Adventure Company\Microids\StillLife

Now right-click on Stilllife.exe, then click Properties. Click the Compatibility tab, then select Windows 98/ME from the drop down menu. Hit OK and try to run the game again. It should start up just fine.

Blank/Black Screen Asus PC 4G

When you first turn on the computer, start tapping the F8 key to bring up the safe mode screen. You have a very short window in which to press the F8 key before XP loads, so it is possible to miss it. If this happens, just restart it and try it again. Once you are on the safe mode screen, select the enable VGA mode. This will boot your computer to a default 640 x 480 resolution so you can change it back to normal.

Thanks and please don't forget to give this solution a fixya rating.
