If you are with a lexmark printer switch to windows xp or just try to buy another printer... If you are using this x4270 printer probably it is famous for faxing problems so probably you must not try to fax...Try lexexpress if you are in warranty

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Lexmark X4270) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Good Luck
