Touch Screen and Remote Problem

My touch screen is working 75% of the time, the other 25% it will not let you select random letters or numbers, it will select the letter or number next to the one you are trying to select. Using the remote was letting me work around this problem but now my remote has stopped working completely.

My screen appears to be failing as well, when trying to callibratem it fails. My remote still does work. Is there any fix other than throwing away a $1200 GPS?

My Remote would not work, but touchscreen did.

1. Select the option to "Reset all Settings"
2. Select "Turn off remote" on the touch screen
3. Turn off the 2620 itself.
4. Turn on the 2620.
5. Select "Turn on remote"

This caused my remote to resume working.

I just kept resetting my the calibration and the entire system. Finally my remote works 100%, so even though my touchscreen calibration is still off I can now put in everything I need to navigate with my remote. My remote was totally dead.

You need to replace touch pad. Parts cost around $25. Fairly easy to replace. Once you see it you will know how to replace, Go on ebay and put in lg vu touch screen and you should pull up parts for your phone. Or just google lg vu replacement touch.

I cannot program anything into directions because the screen does not bring up the number or letter when you touch it, it brings up the letter/number to the left of it. You cannot get the numbers/letters...

The problem is the screen needs to be calibrated, however this sometimes doesn't work if the touch screen is failing. I saw a lengthy procedure posted here in a different solution I have yet to try. But for the calibration you will go to menu - > display -> press FIND and follow the directions on screen. If calibration fails repeat, or find the other lengthy instructions here and try those. Several people claim they have worked, again, I haven't tried them. Another option is to purchase a remote for the unit. I have one and use it for mine because my screen totally failed. I have since replaced the screen with a junk unit I purchased on EBay but prefer the remote over the touch screen for most things. Remotes are about $30 bucks. If you're lucky you might be able to find a 2610 that includes a remote for around $50 and pick up an extra set of accessories. Good luck and post back if you have any other questions.
