Batteries After charging batteries I load them into camera and nothing happens. I tried standard batteries and things work fine. I return to charged batteries and everything works fine too. Why do I get a problem using rechargeable batteries once they have been charged? The same thing as before. The charger indicates error, charging and ready for each battery. No problem with the charging process that I can tell. The charger is an Ansmann Digispeed 4 Batteries are 2200NiMH. The batteries I tested to see whether camera was working were those supplied with the camera ? Panasonic. My first thoughts were that the batteries were faulty but the charger did not indicate any problems. Problem was noticed after a depleted notice was presented on camera. I had been intending to fire flash when message appeared and all the flash would do was fire a weak buzz of light. The camera is working fine in all other aspects. I had checked power was off before removing batteries and reloading them. I also checked that battery compartment door was closed correctly before switching on camera. All in all, I find the incident puzzling, especially as it has happened more than a few times ready. Since the camera is new I was wondering whether I should have it checked by Pentax. Were I to do so under warranty then I am puzzled as to what my problem is when the camera appears to be working. I am considering to get some 2700 batteries at the weekend and will see how they perform. Regarding other rechargeable batteries I only had some old Uniross 800Mah that will only fire one flash picture before draining. I can think of nothing more to add. Batteries were placed in camera just after charging. First time they were warm an d second not. I have sent a copy of the problem to Pentex and when I hear back I will post what they told me. I am just crossing my fingers and toes that it is not the camera. The odd thing was that when I put the re-charged batteries in after charging them, there was no power available to fire-up the camera. Yet, a short time later, they worked only after I used the batterties supplied with the camera. Before trying the supplied batterties I had left the re-charged batteries out for a couple of hours before trying them again in the camera - and still nothing. Yet after using the Panasonics and switching to the re-charged batterties everying worked fine.
