Preamp intermittent channel

Getting the connections right is a problem. One thing I find helps is the THX DVD discs that certain movies have on them. They have a sound set up to get it right. It makes a tone for each channel so you can hear which channel is working. It should help you set up the system right and determine if any channel has a fault on it.

Left speakers do not work

As power amps are just two amps joined together all you need do is identify the left channel and compare it with the right. Ignore any parts common to both channels. The first thing to do is a visual check. If something looks broken burnt, or odd compared with the right channel then you have probably found the culprit. I suspect you could have a power output failure. It might be that the output devices are separate transistors. They might need to be replaced.
By the way just follow either the internal speaker leads or the connections to locate the right and left channels.

I have a Kenwood stereo receiver model k2 3600 , the left speaker keeps going out , the right speaker works fine. I've tried adjusting the speaker wire for the left speaker, and I always end up having...

HI,
BASED ON THE INFO YOU GAVE I HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS BELOW..

1, switch the working right speakers cable to left output and problem left to right (from the back of receiver -not from the speakers it self..) to see if problem continues..

2.After switching them ,if it (old left new right one ) still stops left speaker cable may have short ( a tiny cable inner pieces may touching to other side ) at either at the back of receiver output or at the end ,at speaker input .
make sure you control it carefully...if the problem persist please contact to me..

Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up

Hope this helps!

My Sharp Integrated Amplifier SM-30 is showing me on the power bar that know power is being put through the right speakers. Ive tried plugging the RCA cables in the back to every thing and its the same...

Hi, If your power meter is showing power to the right side but no sound it may be possible you have a blown fuse inside. I would check that. It will more than likely be located near where the speaker jacks are on the inside of the cabinet. So I hope this has been of some help and thanks for choosing FixYa,good luck Prodzilla.

The left side main output won't put out any sound on my Denon AVR-900.

connect your right speaker cable to the left output, if the sound comes out then the problem is on the left speaker ( the cable or the speaker itself ), but if still no sound, then the problem is on the power output of the unit, need to repair them

Left speaker output makes speaker sound cracked but ive switched both speakers left to right even tried new chords

It's pretty clear from your problem description that there's something wrong with the amp's left channel. You've already tried switching speakers and cords so that leaves the amp itself as the problem. This could be something simple like a dirty level control. You can try using control cleaner spray (not WD-40!!!). It might also be caused by solder connections that have developed or components that have failed, which would need professional service. Take this to a shop that has the right tools and expertise to diagnose and repair the trouble. Your local musician's store should be able to suggest a servicer if they don't have their own shop.
