Just underdo the screws from the bottom of the hoover head (where the brush rotates from) I think from memory there are about 8 screws carefully price the plastic apart use a flat headed screwdriver as sometimes there are retaining clips and you should be able to access it hope this helps

How do i change the belt on a hoover model #U4509

Lay the unplugged vacuum upside down and remove the bottom plate covering the brushroll to remove the brushroll and belt. Make sure brushroll bristles aren't worn, replace it also if needed. Make sure brushroll will spin freely. Put new belt around motor shaft then around brushroll. Pull on brushroll with both hands to get enough leverage to stretch the belt far enough to drop the brushroll in place. Put bottom plate back on and insure brushroll will turn by hand before you turn it back on..

How do I change the belt on a dirt devil dynamite II cyclonic

Hi! Happy to help with that. Please follow the steps below.

  • Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the three (3) screws.
  • Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt.
  • Slide belt onto motor shaft.
  • Place new belt in area of brushroll without bristles.
  • With new belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end cap on the left is in the correct orientation. Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is properly aligned.
  • Reattach nozzle guard by carefully sliding back into place. Interlock rollers and nozzle guard by tilting rollers down towards the base while replacing the nozzle guard.
  • Be sure to replace all three (3) screws.
Hope this helps!

How do l change a belt on my hoover bagless cleaner?

Hi there! To replace your belt follow these quick steps below.

1. Remove your nozzle or hood, whichever your manual states.
2. Remove the brushroll and slide the old belt off.
3. Replace with specific genuine Hoover belt for your vacuum.
4. Slide the belt over the metal motor shaft.
5. Slide the brushroll through the belt and allow the belt to rest on the portion of the brush roll without any bristles.
5. With brushroll in place pull and slide the brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end caps are in the correct orientation.
6. Replace the nozzle or hood.

For more specific instructions please provide your model number. Hope this was helpful!

Replacing belt on brushroll on a Hoover SH40060 canister

Your manual is pretty lacking. Most all brushes have holder guides on both ends, normally the entire brush and guides will lift straight out of the head if the belt is broke, there could be a locking clip, make sure the area is clean so you can see it, but the brush head has to come out somehow or a new belt can't go on, some have the top of the head comes off, the cover, this way you place the belt on the brush, set the brush back in the head, then you set the belt onto the motor shaft from the top.

What ever you do, make sure you watch how the brush comes out and the guides, if you need to take a marker and put a mark on the guides so you know what the top was and how they go back in.

Hello,We have an Hoover Mach 5 Cyclonic vacuum that has no suction. We have cleaned and checked all hoses, belts & filters. Please help us.

With this model, remove the dust tank, and turn it on, check for suction at the lower intake. If you have suction, install the tank and remove hose, and check for suction there. keep following until youn lose it. Then you problem will be between those 2 areas

Brush doesn't move when turned on

replace both belts part # 38523-034 the V belt and 38528-035 the flat belt. Inspect the brushroll groove for wear. the top of the V belt should almost ride flush with the brushroll when you press your handle release and bring your head back. There is a tensioner for the v belt when the handle is released

I have no suction with my Hoover Mach 5 vacuum.

I had a similar problem. Two things to try. There is a lock symbol on the canister you need to ling it up with the mark on the top (the silver part has a line on it). It can be assembles 3 different ways. Also I over looked the sticker in the back of the canister compartment indicating a filter in the top of the canister compartment. There is an orange lever there to release the filter. Hope this helps.
