AB-ADP030 remote takes codes to a Toshiba but half of buttons won't work like play and menu

If the current firmware in your blu-ray player supports multi region then try this.

1. Power on the blu-ray player.
2. Press "Setup" on the remote to enter Setup Menu.
3. Using the remote, enter "8520". A new submenu will appear.
4. Set DVD region code to "0" for DVD Multi Region.
5. Set BD region code as required using the remote buttons.
"1" = Region A, "2" = Region B, "4" = Region C
6. Press "Setup" button to exit the menu.

If this does not work then try upgrading the bluray firmware.
Search for Toshiba BDX2150 firmware and see if there is a newer firmware than the one you have installed.

Sometimes you can enter a code that will work nearly all the buttons, but is not the correct code for your DVD player. You should try other codes. But sometimes a universal remote will NOT work every function.

All universal remote controls should have to setup with the TV by its codes. There are codes, given below, to synchronize the TV with remote control. Brand name of the remote control you have isn't matter. Check these codes. Proceedings also is given. Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

It's likely the remote has the wrong code, so it will only work certain functions. You need to try lots of codes, if you do not know the player's code, till ALL function buttons work, not just some.

This will over-ride the regional code violation detection menu and you can watch the movie etc by entering the fwd on the remote control and change chapters etc by using the T (Title/Chapter) button on the remote control)

I found this for other Toshiba SD dvd players, yours was not listed but might be worth a go.

Check for bad caps in vertical circuit. Solder any/all bad connects. REPLACE vertical o/p IC w/OEM or better quality. I usually use Tosh,Hit,or Pana. 2)Check/replace tactil switch (menu)on front panel.
