How does afrost free freezer work - Frigidaire 20.3 cu. ft. Upright Freezer GLFU2067F

Frost free means that the evaporator coil will not accumulate a thick layer of frost. It will not prevent frost from accumulating on the walls of the freezer. To slow down the amount of frost build up inside the freezer, do not keep the freezer door open for any longer than necessary. The freezer door seal may be defective. This would allow moisture in that would freeze on the inside walls. A heater with timed intervals to come on is one way for a frost free feature. But this will not work for frost build up on the inside walls of the freezer. It would only melt the frost and then it would refreeze again.

Because a freezer only does one thing and that is freeze things, unfortunatly any things that breaks on a freezer causes the same thing. Is it running, does the fan work (frost free) are the shelves melting (non frost free) can you hear the compressor running , is the condensor fan running ?

You can get a replacement from the mfr or supplier .

check that it defrost elements (heater elements) are working if they working then check if the sensor is working and if the door is sealing when its closed or if the drain is open.

ther is a small fan in the freezer that keeps air moving, that is what makes it frost-free, the fan is probably burned out

1st check the compressor working or not working .OK compressor is working system gas leak ,not working check the capacitor and timer contector

Hi, It sounds like the defrost drain is plugged. UNPLUG the freezer. Remove the rear panel and you will be able to find the drain hole and remove the ice. Once you get the iceout of the drain. try and fluxh it with hot water (A baisting serigne works great). Sometines they plug up with duse from underneath. I hope this helps you. The thermostat might be turned up too high or is faulty. It should click when turned up and down from the setpoint.

possibly due to not defrosting. take off rear panel in freezer and check if there is ice build-up on the evaporator. if so, melt off carefully with a hair dryer and appliance will then work. get back to me with what you find if you wish
