SOURCE: I want Google to be my search engine when I click

Firefox didn't make it very easy to change your search provider, but you can do it. Here's how:

  1. In the address bar, enter "about:config" (not with the quotes).
  2. You'll see a warning screen; click on the "I'll be careful" button.
  3. Enter "keyword.URL" in the filter string box.
  4. Double-click the current value for keyword.URL, and in the box that opens, enter "http://www.google.com/search?&q=" and click OK.
This will make Google your default search provider. You can also click on the search provider icon at the left end of the search bar and pick Google from the drop-down list.

Hi there,
If I understand your question, then you want to change your default search engine from ask.com to google.
Here is what you do. In your search bar, there is a drop down arrow. Click on it, and it shows all the available search engines installed in your browser. To make google your default, simply select it, and that should effect the change.

Hope that was helpful?
