TAPE COMPARTMENT KEEPS POPPING OPEN

I HAVE A CANON ZR300 IT KEEPS EJECTING THE TAPE.  WHEN I TAKE THE CASSETTE OUT THE COMPARTMENT WILL CLOSE.

I'm having the same problem with my ZR200. I put the tape in and close it down but then it pops it back up. If I take the tape out it works perfectly. I close the door and then the machine pulls the tape compartment in so I am able to close the main door.

I am 100% sure it is not a tape problem because its the ONLY tapes I buy and I have used it several times.

I am afraid I have exactly the same problem. I have hardly ever used the camera. I have told I might as well throw it away.

I Had The Same Issue And Fixed It :o) I Have A Sony Handycam CCD F-730A 8mm. I put the tape in and close it but it would not load the tape down. It just pop back out. If I took the tape out, it works perfectly and would loaded the tape doc down and close.

1st: I unscrewed and removed the door to the tape. Where the tape can be seen. 2 screws hold it down. Without the tape inside. I Saw a Clear Small Plastic in the inside of the camera where the tape sits on each side. On Both Sides, Left and Right are clear plastic like sensors. They look Like Glass and are small.

2nd: I Cleaned them both with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. It Worked. The tape loaded and worked nicely.

It was strange. If i touched one of the small glass like sensors. the mechanism the loede the tape would not work. When The Glass sensor was blocked by the tape or just by my finger in front of it, it would not load. Very strange.

When i ejecting the cassette in it retuning it whith a sound pit , pit , pit, pit,

This sounds to me like tape slack. Try to open the tape path of your cassette carefully and wind the loose tape back until you regain tension. Close back the cover and retry. In case the same effect happens again, the tape department of your ZR200 is faulty. Only well schooled stuff should open your Cam because of delicate parts inside!!!
Best wishes

hmmm...the only reason that usually happens is when the tape is messed up internally, or there is something stuck in amongst the head

Canon ZR300 Mini DV Digital Camcorder THE MINI DV TAPE IT DOES NOT GO INSIDE THE CAMERA, SOUND LIKE IS GOING BUT IS EJECTED WITH A AUDIO WARNING AND IN THE VIEWFINDER SAY REMOVE THE TAPE AND A X APPEARS,...

I know this is going to sound strange. I had the same issue with my ZR300. When you insert a tape and close the mechinism you hear the tape whirl then it pops open and chimes. I found a solution online and thought it was to good to be true. It said to hold the camcorder in your left hand with the right side up (the opposite side of the fold out viewer). You then hit the camcorder , not real hard like slapping something. Open the door and insert the tape and WHAM! It loaded fine. Eight people had tried it according to the review and all eight people had success. I was skeptical but it works! Don't hit it so hard you break it. I did mine twice before it worked but it works everytime now. Trust me just try it and it will work.

I have a canon zr 100 camcorder. the problem i am having is that it keeps ejecting a cassette when i am trying to load a cassette.it will close without a cassette in the compartment.please let me know what...

Usually caused by a nearly dead battery or a bad cassette. However...before proceeding, make sure there are no foreign objects, such as filament paper that cassettes are wrapped, in cassette slot.
1) make sure battery is fully charged
2) try using a new cassette

Canon zr300 ejects tapes

Hi guys,

Thank you very much for this solution posting. Really it worked. I was about to buy another one instead of fixing the problem. Because you know how the pain is, to send it factory and getting it repaired.

Once again Thank you.

Canon zr300 ejects tapes

There is a fix for this which was posted for either the ZR 200 or 400. They call it the "Fonzie" fix. Just hit the camcorder with your fist on the side where the tape goes in (with the door closed). Hit it lightly once, try inserting the tape. Repeat this process with increasing force each time until this works.

Surprisingly, this worked for me. Obviously, there must be something loose for this type of solution to work. I actually had it working once, then it acted up again. I tried the same solution and it's working again. No problems for several days now.
