Mopar plugs are gapped at .035, while points are .020 for /6 and .017 for all V8s. You can get a gapper at any parts store for maybe five bucks- it's just a set of little pieces of metal of the right size to stick in there. You need the kind that are a thin strip of metal- the disk kind you can use for plugs won't work because you can't fit it down in there.
Hey Maryna, This is a job for a professional,, the timing is critical so engine damage doesn't happen!!.-- BUT, if you have someone who has the tools.. you can do it yourself.
The points control the time the spark plug fires. The point gap makes sure the spark is generated is sufficient enough to provide the energy to the coil to provide the hot spark to the spark plug.
The timing should be around 1.8 - 2.0 mm BEFORE top dead center..(the piston location). When the piston is at 1.8 - 2.0mm BTDC the points should be just breaking contact.. this is the ACTUAL TIMING setting!! You need a dial indicator with attachments to fit into the spark plug hole AND a meter to tell you when the point first open.. The points gap should be .014".
Some engines use the point gap as a timing setting...ie.. if the point gap is right (.014") the timing should be close. The timing has to be very close...too advanced (2.2mm BTDC or more) and you will burn a hole in the piston!!!! IF you set the point gap and the timing is off, you need to replace the points. There should be some timing marks somewhere on the flywheel/engine case. If you need more help,, just reply to this post. Good Luck!!
assuming that this is a mechanical timer with set points for off and on red points turn on and black points turn off. set the red point for your on time and then be sure to set black point for off. Best to tighten 1/8 turn (slightly) with pliers so it does not slip
first you need to set up your Connection Settings under "Internet" in the System Settings Menu. Then you need to either "Search for an Access Point", in which your system will search for a nearby Wi-Fi hotspot, or choose "AOSS". When "Searching for an Access Point" turns up results, they'll be accompanied by a padlock icon that either shows as being locked (the WEP access code is needed) or unlocked (free access). If you're trying to set up access to an AOSS-compatable access point, then you'll need to press the AOSS button on the access point until it flashes.
you have 2 sets of points one set attached directly to main backing plate the other set has another backing plate attached to main backing plate .start with the first set turn motor till points at the widest gap set gap to0.35mm turn motor back till points close diconect push on terminal and attach multimeter lead to points terminal attach
other multimeter lead to earth tun motor to the points break continuity with earth check position of f mark to pointer move backing plate till points break contact on f mark now do same to next set of points nb if points worn you might have to run a much smaller gap 2 get rite!
