Touchpad not working

There's a tiny orange light near the upper left corner of the touchpad to the left of the touchpad. If that is lit, you may only have to tap the upper left hand corner of the touchpad a couple of times to get it to go out. and start the touchpad working.

Barring that, see if the synaptics driver is installed. Go to "Control Panel," change the "view" in the upper right hand corner to "large icons," and see if "Synaptics Touchpad V8.1" is listed.

If not, go to "Control Panel," locate device manager and click (with a usb mouse) "mice and other pointing devices," click "Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad," and check to see if it says, "device is working properly." If not or if it still doesn't work, click the driver tab, and click "update driver."

Toshiba M35 S320 touch control buttons have stopped working. How do I fix it?

The TouchPad is enabled by default. To change the enable/ disable TouchPad setting: 1 Click Start, Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears. 2 Click Printers and Other Hardware. 3 Click the Mouse icon. 4 Click the TouchPAD ON/OFF tab. The TouchPAD ON/OFF tab view window appears. 5 Select Disable or Enable, whichever is appropriate. 6 Click Apply. 7 Click OK. The Mouse Properties window closes. 8 Close the Printers and Other Hardware window. 9 Close the Control Panel window.
However, still if it does not work, you need to download drivers for touchpad. Here is link to download the drivers for touchpad. Under the "All categories link choose Touchpad"

I've had the acer one for 2 weeks. While using it today, the single and double click functions of the touchpad stopped working. The touchpad still moves the arrow around the screen and the left and right...

Hello cskpuels,

It sounds like the touchpad is working ok but probably needs some setting(s) adjusted. The touchpad settings can be accessed through the windows control panel. But before going to the control panel it's useful to review the touchpad basics for single and double clicking. They are as follows:
•Tap once on the main touchpad for single click.
•Tap twice for double click.
•The lighter the touch, the better the response.
•Tapping harder will not increase the touchpad's responsiveness.

•Opening the Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel can be opened by:
Selecting *Start > Control Panel (on Windows Vista)
- OR -
Start > Run > Type 'Control' and select OK (on Windows XP)
*The Enter key may be used on the keyboard in place of touchpad clicking*

In the Control Panel, do the following:
•Select Mouse [Enter] (Brings up the touchpad properties sheet)
•Look at the Buttons tab in the touchpad properties sheet.
•Adjust the settings and test the touchpad until you get the response you desire.

If this solution is helpful please click 'YES' by 'Was this helpful?' below.

Have a great day,

Mouse touchpad, keyboard, and usb drives will not work

One thing you can try (for the touchpad)

Acer have got a function key to turn it on and iff (i thought mine was broken for a year). Hold the function key, which is located bottom left of keyboard, and then press F7. It should be F7 anyway.

Hope that helps for your touchpad
