I have a Hitachi LED slim tv model LE32S406. After a power outage the tv began displaying at the bottom several icons such as Super slim-Dynamic backlight contrast-On/sleep timer-Built in power supply-HDMI and ECO. It will then sequence through each icon and enlarge it as it proceeds. This is very distracting. I've tried using the input and the display button on the remote to delete this but to no avail. Is there a toll free number that I can speak to a Hitachi tech regarding this matter?

The model would have helped. Generally horizontal lines in the picture come from a defective panel and the set isn't fixable, you could try replacing the t-con board but chances of fixing it are slim

Hitachi has LED’s, green ‘lights’ and a red light to determine what circuit may be the problem; after removing the back of TV, bottom only, plug TV back in and observe which LED’s come on …..BUT most important which LED’s don’t come on; locate and note number, EG; DP37 and etc.

check the solder around the area of the vertical IC. solder is either cracked or else cold. Cold solder appears as dull. Resolder anything that isnt shiny.

connect direct to wall as the surge protector may now have issue.

now only visible in a thin horizontal line. first of all you reduce brightness to monimum. it just to protect your tv from crt demage. your problem is in horizontal output section as you have mentioned that week or so ago the right and left bottom edges of the picture began to move in like a sideways triangle filled with black so this sympton is due to hor. section problem. your flyback transformer or horizontal output might be defective. but remember check for power supply is ok from surge protector hope this will help.
