iPhones have to be activated twice. Here is the procedure of activating one

<li>This activation will activate the iPod features of the iPhone</li>
<li>Next you activate the phone with the carrier, this is usually done by dialing *228 but may be different between carriers</li>
<li>After this step the phone features will be active and you can make calls, text and use data</li></ol>
The process is slightly different per carrier, but generally you will need to log in, select the line you are activating a device on, and then enter the IMEI number for the phone you are activating. If you're activating a prepaid plan online, you will likely need to enter an Activation Code.
To Activate your new Straight Talk phone online, you simply need to go to www.straighttalk.com/Activate. You may also Activate your New Straight Talk phone by calling our Customer Care Center at 1-877-430-CELL (2355) from another phone.
go to Prepaid Phones No Contract Plans TracFone Wireless and click on activate. You may have to purchase a kit to activate the phone. GSM(sim card) or CDMA(no sim card( this type is older but does work well) activation are going to be your only two options. Hopefully, the phone(s) you purchased came with it's own activation kit and you simply just have to follow the instructions on how to activate my phone under "Activate".

Why does my phone display "SIM card registration failed/Unregistered SIM" or
"No Service"?
When your TracFone is turned on you may receive the message "SIM card
registration failed", "Unregistered SIM", or "No Service" because your phone has
not yet been Activated. Please disregard this message, it will disappear once
your phone is Active.
