My MC55 will not respond to a cold or warm boot. I have fully charged the battery. The screen will not respond when I tap it. The screen is white withe the Motorola logo and MC55 Series. Is there anyway to get this back to working again with out sending it to a tech person?

Datamatrix is 2D Symbology. Actually this MC55 is a model with 1D Laser Scan engine. The laser cant scan 2D barcodes, therefore he is not decoding the datamatrix barcode.
You would need an MC55 with an 2D Imager or with Camera to scan 2D Barcodes.
To find where to hook up your power lead. The best way is with an inexpensive test light. You can get one at the local auto parts house. It looks like a screwdriver with a light-up handle and a wire pigtail on one end and instead of a screwblade it's got an ice-pick like tip. Connect the aligator clip end to a metal grounding location under the dash, and then with the key on, probe with the pointed end on some of the wiring near the fuse block or under the steering column. When the light in the test light illuminates, you've found a hot. Now turn the key off and see if the light goes out. That will be your hot for the the accessory hot. Then you'll most likely need to find a constant hot. This will be a wire that illuminates your test light whether the key is on or off. This one is hooked to the hot that is constant...it's the one that keeps all your radio stations and the memory items intact when the key is turned off.
So you'll have 2 a constant hot and an "accessory" hot that's only on with the key.
