The unit is not drawing water from the air

Mary,
There is a recall on Whirlpool dehumidifiers that may cover your unit, the website lists serial numbers of units on the recall list.
Dehumidifier Recall FAQs
I assume from your question that at least the fan is running. There are many reasons why a dehumidifier is not removing water from the air. Most likely is accumulation of dust and pet hair that restricts the air flow. If you can, unplug it, take off the covers and vacuum out all the dirt from the evaporator and condenser (little radiator like parts). This website has some good blow up pictures of how it is put together and part nomenclature:
WHIRLPOOL DEHUMIDIFIER Parts Model AD25J3 SearsPartsDirect
If the air flow is restricted, the compressor has to work harder to the point that the overload gets tripped. It may or may not be resettable; it is part #10 in the diagram on this page:
http www searspartsdirect com Whirlpool Dehumidifier Parts Model AD25J3...
If you do take the covers off, check that the fan turns freely and you may want to add a drop of oil to each end of the motor if there is a place to oil it. Light oil like sewing machine oil or light engine oil will do.
You cannot really tell if the compressor is working with all of the covers on; and I cannot recommend plugging it in with covers removed because there may be open electrical connections that you do not want to touch. However if the compressor is running, the outlet tube will get hot; that is the one that goes to the condenser [radiator like bundle of tubes nearest the fan] [it may get too hot to touch]. The evaporator [bundle of tubes farthest from the fan] should start to get cold where the tiny little tube from the condenser joins. If neither is happening and you are sure the compressor is running, it is out of refrigerant [freon] and may or may not be worth fixing. If the evaporator ices up [gets covered with frost] it may be low on refrigerant indicating a leak; again it may not be worth fixing.

Gold star dehumidifier turns on collects water. Buttons not working. Cannot change the humidity high or low or timer

Check your manual for a reboot or override procedure. If there is none, then try unplugging for about three minutes the replug. If no luck, next try unplugging, leave overnight. Then plug in see if that works. Sometimes static electricity can build up, this will help to dissipate it. Of course, it could be a bad control panel. If so you may be able to get a replacement from the company or a local electronic store. Good luck.

Why is my Kenmore Energy Star 50 pint model 251-50501012 dehumidifier leaking water after I disconnected the drain hose

If you reconnect the drain hose, make sure that it lays flat from the dehumidifier and into the sump pump hole. I did that and it solved my problem of water leaking onto the floor.

MY dehumdifier is blowing warm air ,Is there a fitler that needs to be cleaned and how is this done ? Model 3fdl5051 50pints

It's not unusual for a dehumidifier to blow warm air. As it may be in defrost mode. Even so, they still blow warm air.

The model number you furnished is slightly helpful. Knowing what brand it is, would be even better.

Never-the-less, the filter should be located behind the front louvers of the unit. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder, just behind the front louvers. You may see a plastic pull tab handle. If so, that's the filter frame. Pull it straight down and out.

If you didn't find it there, look on the right hand side of the unit, just behind the louvers for what looks like a a flip open door. If you see that, flip the door open and remove the filter.

The filter can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid. Thoroughly rinse and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in place.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I bought the eva dry e-333 on 4/30/11. I placed it near my toilet tank in the bathroom. Everything was working fine until two or three days ago. I noticed that the tank had water condensation and the eva...

You are trying to fix the symptoms rather than the problem. The problem is the water going into the tank is colder than the air in the bathroom, which cause condinsation on the tank. If you can, take the chill out of the water. By exposing the pipes, which may cause the pipes to sweat. Or cool the room air. Is the bathroom vented so that the warm moist air is carried outside? There are liners that go in the tank that work well. If you use a liner make sure you will still have enough water to flush with, as they will take up some of the water volume.

Code (CH) (01) on front panel, what does it mean?

I believe it is a water tank code. Re-seat the tank, unplug wait 15 seconds and replug the power cord and see if this resolves the error.

Background relating to other possibilities.
When the water bucket reaches its capacity, the bucket switch opens to shut off the dehumidifier. If the bucket switch fails while it is open, it will prevent the dehumidifier from running. To determine if the bucket switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the bucket switch does not have continuity, replace it.

Dehumidifier headaches!

There are three things that must be working to extract water. The 'coil' (a finned metal part that allows air passage) if it's filled with dust and obstructions, no air can move...no water. There is a blower motor that mus move the air. If it is seized up an not blowing air...very little or no water. The compressor uses condensation from the air moving across its coils (like the moisture than forms on a cold glass on a humid day) to extract the water from the air. If it's not working then no water.
So, if there is air blowing out of the dehumidifier the blower is working. If the air is room temp the compressor is not working. If it's real hot air, and the humidifier keeps cycling on and off quickly, the coil is dirty. Those are the 3 things that need to be working.

My kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier 54501 runs but it does not taking in water

You need to determine what's "running". Here's why: There are three things that must be working to extract water. The 'coil' (a finned metal part that needs air to flow across its surface) may be filled with dust and obstructions, so no air can move...then no water. There is a blower motor that must move the air. If it is seized up and not blowing air...very little or no water. The compressor creates condensation from air moving across the coil (like the moisture than forms on an ice filled glass on a humid day) to extract the water from the air. If it's not working then no water.
So, if there is air blowing out of the dehumidifier the blower is working. If the air is room temp the compressor is not working. If it's real hot air, and the humidifier keeps cycling on and off quickly, the coil is dirty. Those are the 3 things that need to be working.
