Yes, you can submerge the F5 coil and shaft, but not the control housing. The F2 cannot.
Be careful not to slip and fall or drop the F5. As a precaution use a sling/strap that goes over your shoulder and/or clips on you, so if dropped the control housing will stay above the water.

Yes, it`s ok to submerge the coil, just hang on to it! You can strap it to yourself for insurance, rifle slings can be easily modified for this purpose...
