I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 with a blank screen; it only comes up in VGA or safe mode. I received the error message 1000-0146 after running the diagnostics. We have tried looking for the LCD panel switch...

That error code is pointing on your hard drive-it is going in Big Junkyard in Heaven. Try recovery console if you have original installation CD. If not, your need to take out stuff that your need and install another hard drive. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

I have an dell dimension e510 that boots to a black screen I have tried just about everything I can think of to fix it, I don't even see any way to boot to safe mode any ideas?

1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS.
That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.
4- Replace your battery.
5-Restart

My Dell Inspiron 6000 (which I think I bought in

Have you tried this:
1. After removing the battery
2. Press and hold the power button for at least 10 sec.
3. Put back the battery
4. Turn it on

if this doesnt work, there could be a problem with your operating system. Try accessing safe mode if you can login .TAP F8 continously on the dell logo screen, and it will open advance boot options. (Just select safe mode) If safe mode boots properly try running system restore to restore it back to the previous date where your computer is still booting to windows. Hope this helps

I have tried everything to turn my laptop on even battery out and plugged in it wont turn on help me please!!!

I recommend you to try checking with your adapter and external power source.
If the laptop turns on but the screen is blank or no display, then the issue can be even due to corrupted display drivers.

If the laptop does not boot at all, then issue mught be due to battery, hard disk, etc.

I recommend you try the steps in the below link:

http://notebook-solutions.blogspot.com/2009/05/notebook-solutions-notebook-solutions.html

Follow the steps from No power or no boot in laptops.

Also try if you can boot into safe mode.
If you can boot into safe mode, perform recovery so that your laptop may turn on.

Windows XP Media - Service Pack 3 download, Wont startup after download shut down.

Keep the battery unplugged but make sure you have the power cord still plugged in, and when you see the toshiba screen press F8 i believe or F1. In there you need to change to the boot order so that the CDrom boots first if you want to try and restore from CD

Dell 1501 inspiron laptop blank screen

Hi,

Have you installed any application/program prior to the blue screen? Most blue screen causes your system not to boot to your operating system anymore. It is possible that your hard drive is crashed due to a virus infections or spywares. Incompatibility and corrupted system registry may affect your system to have blue screen as well.

You may try the following steps below.

1. Restart your computer. After you pressed the power button to restart. Keep on tapping F8 key on the keyboard on and off.

2. Boot advanced option will show up on the screen. You may boot your computer to the following option.

a. Last known good configuration
b. Safe mode with Networking.

If Safe mode w/networking works, restore your computer to an earlier using the system restore features.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

jeff
