Try this while standing on one leg.
1. OPen ink caridge lid.
2. Remove the affected cartridge.
3. Close lid
4. Try to print. This will fail, but that is ok.
5. Open the ink cartridge door again.
6. Remove the other cartridge.
7. Unplug the unit.
NOTE FOR THE NEXT STEP
This can be risky and I asume no responsibility for pressng too ******* the contact points, havng too much alcohol, using the wrong kind of alcohol, or not using alcohol or other such problems that can occur.
8. Using ONLY alcholo lightly brushthe contact points
9. Lightly clean the cartridge cotact points.
10. Plug in the unit
11. Install the cartridges.
12. Go through the alignment process.
13. Switch to the other leg, those with one leg only are exempt.
14. You just might be ready to print again.
I know this sounds crazy but this just worked for me.

I had this same problem with an HP 2210 all-in-one. Maybe the solution is similar.
For my printer I needed a torque bit/screwdriver, size T10.
Unplug the printer, be safe, etc.
Looking at the back of the printer:
- Remove the roller insert in the middle by pressing on the two tabs on the sizes and pulling it out
- Unscrew the two torque bits and remove the back panel. Be careful there will be a wire plugged in from the back panel speaker to a circuit board in the bottom-left corner.
- Unplug this cable
- There will be two power cables (one black-and-gray, the other just black) and two white ribbon cables.
- Unplug all these. Be careful unplugging and plugging these in, especially the ribbon cables, they can be bent very easily
- Plug everything back in and reverse these steps to put the printer back together.
- For me, pulling the cables and plugging them back in reset the printer's memory (Note: Date on printer display reset to "Jan 00 00 00:00a") and I was able to use my cartridges to print again (the "incorrect right cartridge" still had 25% ink in it).
Hope this helps.

This error typically indicates that the cartridge was moved (e.g. previously installed) from another printer to your printer. The error should not affect your ability to print. If you want to clear the error, replace the affected cartridge with a genuine HP replacement.
