Washer runs through all the cycles but will not spin. Tub turns during wash but will not spin. Also somewhat noisy during spin cycle. Belt is fine. Where should I start to look to detect problem?

Just had this problem last week. The problem was the door switch, which made no sense to me since the drum still turned on the other cycles. But the repair shop replaced the ($76!) switch and the machine now works fine.
if it is right after the drain cycle; it then goes into a spin. It then starts to fill with water for the rinse while the tub is still turning. The water entering the tub while the tub is spinning, cleans the tub of soap and the water going through the holes in the tub are causing the noise. It is normal if only in the rinse cycle.
You need to replace your washer, the Inner tub Spider broke.. I repaired mine, With me doing the labour, $285 just for the part alone. plus about 3 to 4 hours labour.
