this is capacitors problems inside the monitor. If you have some tools , screwdrivers, soldering iron and some experience, open carefull the back of your monitor after to unplug from the outlet.
you will see in power supply board a capacitor who which the top has changed . replace that capacitor.

put the monitor upside down till it comes on works for me anyway

gptajipcf, When very strange things start to happen with LCD DISPLAYS the first place a Technician will investigate would be the monitors "switch-mode-power-supply" and it's "inverter" supply that supplies 800-1200vac to light up the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" that provide "WHITE LIGHT" for the LCD panel. I recomend a visit to YOUTUBE so you can find and view some video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD monitor repair" and find out if you think you would be able to repair your monitor or have someone else do the work for you. You didn't tell us if the unit is still covered by warranty??? Check with Samsung about doing a CASH+OLD for a Refurbished same model unit.
