You can not stop a firmware update.
Did you turn the machine off while the firmware update? If you did that your NVram is broken
I think that the only chance you have is with a new NVram. Sorry but you will have to put a new NVram.

I am very sorry to have to be the bear of bad news. Usually doing a failed firmware update (or wrong firmware version) you have to return to factory or have a local computer printer shop that deals in HP printers repair this firmware mixup. There is sometimes a firmware recovery mode that can help however You would have to contact HP and ask them how to get into firmware recovery mode.

well you need to kno what firmware you have first, for instance i used a 5.03 chickhen which needs you ro either have 5.03 or below to run,

if you have a newer firmware then 5.03 then simply look up the chickhen for firmware on google, then locate the gen files for that firmware also,

so if you wanna play emulators like snes then use just chickhen, but im sure you want to do more so try to find the gen version for your firmware,

simply google example: Chickhen for firmware 5.50

simply put ur firmware instead of 5.50
